This is the time of year Spencer and I take a look back over the past year, and set goals and direction for the next year.
While Spencer is in Salt Lake, I drove south first to Las Vegas to visit my good friend Robby LeBlanc who will be climbing Kilimanjaro next year after losing 100 pounds. Now, I am down in Chandler, Arizona near Phoenix visiting my Mom and sister.
All the way down, I have been listening to Mixergy podcasts. If you haven’t tuned into their podcasts yet, you should really check them out. The interviews are casual, but packed with great information from the founders of many of the companies you may recognize. The l;ast interview I listened to was with Neil Patel from CrazyEgg.com. We use CrazyEgg to track where visitors are clicking on Social Traffic Lab and DiscountCardstock.com. While their was recently a heatmap WSO offer on Warrior Forum, it doesn’t compare at all to the insights you can get from CrazyEgg.
Another interview was with one members of UnBounce.com a tool that helps you create custom landing pages for different campaigns you have. That is definitely an area we can improve at SocialTrafficLab.com.
Other interviews included; Arjun Dev Arora (ReTargeter), Dan Martell (Flowtown), Dan Siroker (Optimizely), Gary Vaynerchuk (Live interview at SXSW), Ken Yarmosh (AppSavvy), Max Teitelbaum (WhatRunsWhere), Mike Moon and Quoc Bui (FreeTheApps), Noah Kagen (App Sumo – One of our favorite sites).
One of the amazing things I learned was from the guys at Free The Apps. They have 10 – 20 apps and at the time were making $84,000/month simply from the ads in the app.
As we look at next year, webinars are going to play a large part of our marketing. I am definitely going to be sitting down with Stephen Renton on the Marketers Cruise in a few weeks and grill him on even more details to optimize our webinars, and automated webinars through Evergreen.

We are also already implementing several changes in our marketing and sales funnels based on the training from Noah Hammond and his Conversion Jiu Jitsu Course.
The last part of the formula for next year is traffic. Chris Munch has put together some good training on what I used to do in the past, but abandoned after it worked. It is nothing about SEO, Pay Per Click, or Solo Ads. It can be done super easy an hour a day. You can check it out here.
